Linen Of The Week

Spread the love
linen of the day

Our linen has it’s own routine before I fell sick. It’s a routine I could not share with anyone even when I came across a group where someone asked how often do you change your linen? I didn’t leave a comment after reading everyone comments I didn’t want to look like someone with a cleaning disorder.

We change our linens once a week, every Friday. Washing linen will then be either on the same day{Friday} or the next day but the most important thing about washing our linen is the linens has to be washed by Tuesday.

This was a pleasant routine until I fell sick. It was extremely difficult to cope with changes forced upon us due to my depression.

From this weekly ritual routine we ended up with “wash whenever” The whole linen things evaporated in thin air. It never bothered me that the linen are now going for months without a wash. I didn’t even feel the change in the feel of linen in use for months without a wash.

Unlike the towels I just wasn’t focusing on linen I never gave it a second thought or try to anticipate how to cope or what to do.

It was like I never had a linen routine that I use to follow it like a ritual ceremony.

I like changing linens on Friday morning the beds will be left naked for the whole day to air out then I will put on fresh linen late afternoon. Why Friday? Because the next two days is the weekend so I like to have everyone sleep in or stay in bed a little longer relaxing from a long week in fresh clean linen.

Every Tuesday our bed[not the kids beds] get another linen change, in other words we change our bed linen twice a week and the kids once a week.

So why bother changing my bed linen twice a week? Well, I love that fresh crispy feel of fresh linen and I noticed from my experience that after three nights of sleeps linen becomes uncomfortable and that beautiful relaxing fresh crispy scent and feel to fresh linen are no longer there.

What would happen if I skip this middle of the week some weeks or even skip it for just a day or two? Well in that case I won’t have good sleep and sometimes I would have to get up at 2:00 am to change our linen.

So there you go, our linen routine of the week, is a change/wash every single bed linen on Friday and a middle of the week linen was/change for our bed. Navigate to Linen Routine to see the routine and linen videos/images.
