Depression laundry is one of the most debilitating tasks after depression. But don’t worry; I have a tip for you to make the job less stressful.
The first thing you need to do; is to think about survival and functional. Two; is to try and wash one to two loads a day. Dry in the dryer or hang on the line or whatever way you prefer. Any laundry you washed, Must be dried; period.
What to wash and what not to wash.
Sort laundry into dry and wet, socks and underwear’s (if you wash socks and underwear separately). Now wash all the wet stuff first(the way you usually do laundry). Wash underwear and socks. They are one of the most needed garments and people quickly runs out and need clean ones.
Now sort the most needed clothes into one pile. Next up, wash only those needed clothes. ( the way you would usually do laundry). Once you’re done with those clothes. Take a deep breath and celebrate your achievement. Reward yourself or treat yourself to a peaceful movie night with some treat or a hot bath with a”No disturb sign on the door” Or do anything else that’s in your mind, that you’ll enjoy.
Note: Its important to get your husband take part, involved and engaged in the treat or reward. By doing so, you make them see and realised what you did. You teach them how to appreciate you, respect you and value you, not only as a wife and mother, but as a woman that deserves recognition and more.
No Folding
You could barely manage one load let alone folding. Put every room clothes (clothes for all the people sharing the same room) in one basket, put all underwear and socks of each room. Take the baskets to the rooms. Put the basket in a corner of the room.
Remove and clear away any clutter near the baskets of clean laundry. Direct the children to the baskets, let them know, all their clean clothes, socks and underwear’s are in the corner in those basket.
Within few days, those baskets will be emptied and all returned to your magic laundry room. Continue doing laundry the depression method until you are well enough to do laundry as usual.

This method where laundry are not folded is to be used only at times when you’re exhausted or unwell. However, if you’re a person who never golds and are okay with it, then let be it. keep doing it and enjoy the satisfaction you get from it.
