Smart Spark Cleaning: Turtle Cleaning

Spread the love

Follow the instructions below.

Turtle cleaning is a cleaning process I used to get my house clean all year round. This cleaning process focuses on enormous tasks that are often abandoned. Lots of us never washed the windows for months or years. The walls, the doors, and much more. So this deep cleaning system is perfect for getting on top of chores we don’t do daily.

This process is straightforward; it needs to be done slowly according to your wellbeing. All my routines in my Smart Spark Living With Depression System are based on mind and body wellbeing. I do not overwork myself or set high expectations that could potentially get my body and mind into trouble.

I’m realistic with depression, and I don’t follow others who do not have the experience of life with depression.

I advise you to first read the subconscious mind post to help you prepare for the project before you start.

One Task A Day

There is already a post about the “One Task A Day” method. In this project, you must do at least one task a day. More than one task is up to you. But starting slowly is better.

What is the task of the day?

A task is something or a chore that you have been avoiding. It’s very common in depression to avoid, ignore, or simply brush aside things that need our attention. While there is nothing wrong with this, if it is really necessary to skip these tasks for a few days, in the long run, it can worsen your anxiety and your depression. There is also a risk of you falling off track and completely overlooking the task that is awaiting your attention.

If you allow this to happen, you most likely will never do it any sooner. And most of the time, we get glued to this habit. It can spread over to many other tasks, and the result is not pretty. You’ll end up with so many things to do. You’ll get overwhelmed and depressed by the amount of cleaning you now have to do.

As the amount of work piles up, your health declines as fast as the pile of work grows. Your mental health dives. Your family suffers. Suddenly, your whole life turns on its head. Now you have other issues to deal with on top of the mess and clutter you ignored for too long. The domino effect is now on a roll.

Let’s get back to the topic at hand.

I have divided the tasks into groups.

Group 1: You have been unwell for a while.

Group 1: are those who could not do daily chores and their homes are getting overwhelmed and unmanageable. Whether you have just been procrastinating or lack all motivation and inspiration. Whatever the reason, it may be.

Your task priority starts in the following sequence:

Daily chores that have been ignored and overlooked.

  • The dishes have not been washed for days.
  • The fridge has not been cleaned for days.
  • The bathroom or toilet has not been cleaned for days.
  • Kids’ rooms have not been cleaned for days.
  • Laundry has been on hold for days.
  • A clean laundry pile is growing and lying around everywhere.
  • The house has not been vacuumed for days.
  • The trash has not been emptied or cleaned.
  • Anything else you usually do daily that is not on this list can be added.

Important Note:

The list above should not be done all in one day. Depending on your wellbeing. Your mental and physical wellbeing on a specific day should determine how you tackle the list above.

Any daily chore that has been left undone for days will fall under your task of the day in this project. People in Group 1 are those of us who get bouts of depression that will make them unable to do anything for days. The usual daily chores are abandoned. (See the list above)

Group 2: You’re on top of things (daily chores)

If you have been on top of your daily chores, then the following are examples of your task of the day in this project.

Choose a room to be deep cleaned.

  • Bathroom
  • Toilet
  • Kitchen
  • Garage
  • Garden
  • Car (if you usually do your family car cleaning)
  • Wardrobes and drawers are included in the room’s deep clean.
  • Kitchen drawers and under the sink, and all cupboards and pantry and the fridge are part of the kitchen’s deep cleaning.
  • The toilet and bathroom cupboards, drawers, under the sink, etc. are parts of the bathroom and toilet deep cleaning.
  • Add to the list anything you do not consider a part of your daily cleaning routine.

The windows, windowsills, walls, and ceiling are parts of every room you deep clean. The same thing goes for the bathroom and toilet.

Garden:

The garden is more of a timeout for you, to be with nature, to give you some physical activity added to your day. You may need to do some weeding, a little cleaning, plant some seeds etc,.

I suggest you do your garden round in the morning. I find doing it in the morning a lot more reviving and refreshing. I get a good energy boost and am more likely to have a great day throughout the day. I’m also less stressed and my mind is well focused when I start my day with the garden round.

Late just before dinner or after dinner is another time I do the garden round. I usually do this second round if I have the time and there is nothing in the house that needs my attention. It’s a wonderful way to tune your body and mind down and get rid of any imbalance in your chemical supplies that can intervene with your evening. It makes you feel good just as in the morning. It’s a great way to finish your day.

While the garden is to encourage you to get out of the house to boost your dopamine supply. I counted as part of cleaning at the same time. The garden is part of your home. As much as you want your home inside to look nice, clean, and tidy. Your garden should also look nice, clean, and tidy. It represents your wellbeing just like inside your home.

We have to be realistic about life. If you have a garden, the garden is not going to clean itself. You can either contract a gardener or do it yourself. It’s the reality of life we mustn’t try to run away from.

When the garden is clean and tidy, you like to visit the garden, go outside to enjoy the clean law and flower beds with some nice flowers. It’s a powerful force that will help you get outside more often. If you can sow or plant a few seeds and plants, that will also be wonderful. It will give you a purpose to be outside. When you plant something in the garden, it will make you want to visit them, care for them and nourish them.

As they grow into beautiful plants, you will feel good and happy to see your plants thrive. They will inturn give you joy. Little things like these can make a huge difference to our wellbeing and can really make us thrive with joy.

To help you push through your journey, I will make some clips of the tasks to load on YouTube so you can watch them and get your cleaning caffeine to tune you up.

I will post the videos whenever I can until I find a fixed time to do video posting. Editing videos is a long and tiring process. It’s hard to find a good time where I can focus on editing and posting videos.
